He died September 16, 2007 from complications from primary amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy (cardiac amyloidosis).
Guess we'll never know now how the series ends...

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Then again, he apparently finished the main storyline, so I guess we'll know still.

rand: omg, life is so awful. heroes have it so much easier in the books. I wish I was more like matt and perrin, they know how to deal with women.

matt: omg, I miss playing dice in the two rivers. I wish I was more like rand and perrin.. they know how to deal with women.

Perrin: I like to hammer things! I wish I was more like matt and rand, they know how to handle women.

that's a fairly decent summary of the series so far

Min: I'm the only decent female RJ has ever written about. I think I'll sleep with Rand and become a mindless slut like the others! YAY!

It has absolutely nothing to do with her sleeping with Rand. It was how she began acting after the fact. When we're following her side of the story, she basically said something along the lines of "Yeah, I knew I loved Rand, but I didn't want to acknowledge it for a while. Then I decided 'what the hell?' and went for it anyway." Her story, her strong sense of character crumbled to bits after that because all she did was whine about her love for Rand and blah blah blah. She was one of the only strong women in that series who didn't immediately come across as a bitch. I think that happened in book 7 or 8. I stopped reading halfway through 9. Perrin also went down hill after marrying Faille and I just couldn't take it any longer.

I just went back an re-read Eye of the World. That really is a masterful book, and i remember now why i started reading the series, and why i have stuck with it for all this time. The majority of people on this forum are here because of WoT, and Eye of the World made me understand why again. Looking throughout the whole series, i now understand a little better why things have changed as they did, plotlines bloating out of control as new threads were added with each book, because you have to have something new to fill those 900 pages. I mean, the same thing happened to Martin, and he was heralded as "The New Hotness". Jordan is still my prime influence and inspiration along with Tolkien when it some to writing, and i also learned to stick to the Trilogy format from seeing what happens otherwise.

Erikson manages to juggle about 17 times the amount of characters and plotlines without fucking it up like Jordan did.

omg

Just picked up Reaper's Gale, and read the Dramatis Personae... I don't think I even need to read the book, I know it's going to be good.
