A New Browser-based Game
« on: July 14, 2005, 07:57:34 PM »
For those of you who remember Blacknova Traders, there's another game set up to play in a webbrowser, Quantum Star:

http://auryn.homeunix.org:8080/qs/

It's based on Solar Empire, if anyone knows that.

It's set up on a machine here at my house since the server that hosted Blacknova didn't have the right PHP settings to run it properly, but it seems to cope well enough for most folks so far despite my crappy connection.
No guarantees it's all working perfectly. Shout out if you've got a problem, but don't gripe and bitch. :)

EDIT: YOU STUPID DUTCH! My link got modified because of your bloody 'Soupie' filters! :x  Still works though, apparently.

I don't really trust the admin...
It is believed Stalin is directly responsible for personally shooting, cooking and consuming as many as 230 million Soviet people.

A summary:

When the game started myself and Auryn settled with three planets, leaving the other 14 planets alone.
Nasojiti joined, and figured he could claim an extra two planets as compensation for our early start. We didn't like this and made it quite vocally clear.

Auryn more so, by using the admin name to supernova one of these planets. Nas took exception to the deaths of his civilians in Nusukan #4 and started claiming more planets. Forming the Clain "Wicked Phat Traders" with Ashtray.

Rick Joined and was having troubles claiming planets we helped him out and he started claiming. Forming the greenpeace clan which was joined by Auryn.

I spent some time helping FLunji get a feel for the game before he was slaughtered by Rick who was apparently after points :|

Auryn started launching omega missiles from his planets at nasojiti's. Nasojiti responded by invading the planet which was firing said missiles abd destroying some o Auryns ships in the process.

meanwhile Rick has gone nuts and started stripping all the planets int he galaxy of fighters, resources and credits. Auryn has presumably left his clan because of this.

:( the depressing part is; you just found half of my battle fleet.
The bright side is that machiavelli #1 found it and took it home; so it isn't where that black hole threw it anymore.

I have a scoutship on the other side of the universe somewhere.

Power was out?  Must have just been you, power has been fine here.  Strange that, isn't it?  My sister has had power outages where we have had none as well, and she lives just on the other side of the Golden Way.

My Internet connection died sometime today, and I had a bit of trouble reconnecting.  It's back up now, so all is well.

Hey, we're newbie friendly!  We allied with Ryoga, didn't we?

And it is a magical place where we live, Soma.  I live in a gumdrop house
on Lollipop Lane and all that...

...nah, actually it's because the suburb is called Golden Grove.  Hence, the two main streets running through it are The Golden Way and The Grove Way.  Oh, and for the hell of it they also threw in a Golden Grove Road. :wheee:
